Are Manufactured Homes a Good Investment?

Manufactured homes tend to have a bad reputation. In general they are considered to be low class, no matter how decked out they might be. Even double-wides are still pretty tacky.

While a manufactured home might be cheaper than your average site built home, that doesn`t mean it`s a good idea to invest in one. These homes do tend to depreciate rather quickly and they aren`t usually easy to resell. For emergency shelters, manufactured homes work well, but other than that, you`d be better off looking elsewhere.

For a better investment at a lower price, you might want to consider looking into modular homes. They are also low priced, but end up looking the same as a site built home. There is literally no difference between the finish products and you can expect these types of homes to go up in value.

Rather than invest in something that will be worth far less later on, make sure you do your research and get a home worth investing in.
